
LP&A provides full naval architecture services from lines plan design to stability analysis to final incline tests and surveys. We provide performance, endurance, and speed/power information.
LP&A specializes in design innovation to create exciting yet functional arrangements to suit your project. Working with the owner from concept design through final construction documents LP&A dedicates themselves to the project. Space planning, styling, functionality, practicality, and operation are all design priorities for LP&A. We can also perform feasibility studies, construction budgets and construction scheduling.
Lay, Pitman and Associates offers full structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping design for a complete vessel design. More specifically:
- Electrical: Power, lighting, UPS, switchboard design, and low voltage.
- Structure: Structural engineering, steel and aluminum, load calculations and full regulatory submittals.
- Mechanical: Propulsion, hydraulic, ventilation, shipboard piping systems, air conditioning and heating.
- Outfitting: Special functions, crane installation, helicopter operations and support, launching designs, A-frames, J-frames, davit, anchoring, mooring, gangways and ramps, luxury amenities, moon pools, masts and stacks, bridge design, swim platforms, elevators and escalators, cathodic protection systems.
We offer on-site design representation and Owner’s Representative services. LP&A can coordinate shipyard availability and bid evaluations.
We will also be there to support your project during the construction phase. We can provide guidance to the shipyard and other contractors, while making sure regulatory guidelines are adhered to.
We provide full regulatory liaison for numerous regulatory bodies including United States Coast Guard and American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, and DNV.
LP&A provides vessel surveys and inspections.
